![]() Weather or related school closings In order to avoid confusion with the posted menu we have developed a plan for menu changes in the event of school closings.
When school is closed on a regularly scheduled day, the menu that was to be served that day will move to the following day. The rest of the week will follow in the same fashion. For instance, if we are closed on Monday, Monday’s menu will be served Tuesday, Tuesday’s will be served on Wednesday and so on until we finish that week. If you have any questions concerning this matter please do not hesitate to contact Marianne Estes at (913) 758-6025.

![]() Peanut & Peanut ProductsJULY 2011
Dear Parents:
As a district, we have seen an increase in the number of students with peanut related allergies as well as other food allergies. In most cases, the food has to be ingested before a reaction occurs. Peanut allergies are different. In severe cases, students can have life-threatening reactions to the smell and touch of peanut based products. In an effort to make our schools allergy safer, the cafeterias no longer serve peanut butter sandwiches.
I would ask for your cooperation in making our schools as safe as possible for all children. Please consider utilizing peanut substitutes for lunches made at home. If you are sending in snacks for treats or parties, prepackaged items with labels would assist the staff in knowing which students can safely partake of the items. Non-food items such as pencils and stickers are always a safe alternative.
Your assistance in making our schools safe and welcoming for all of our students is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Keith A. Mispagel
